Bilingual In-House Legal Counsel- Employment

About the Opportunity 

LRO Staffing is working with a Crown Corporations to source an In-House legal professional, with experience in Labour & Employment. Working closely with the Assistant General Counsel, you will provide legal services primarily in employment, but also in labour, human rights privacy & ethics together with outside legal counsel, where necessary.
 
Duties include but are not limited to: 

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of employment law issues and infrastructure including employment contracts, corporate health & safety
• Provide advice and guidance on workplace issues, accommodation requests and lead internal investigations, where necessary
• Collaborate on the development and evolution of corporate policies and practices
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the corporate legal team
• Manage and support external legal partners 
• Stay current on evolving legal issues that impact the organizations workforce

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• A Degree in Law from an accredited institution together with membership (or eligibility) in your provincial law society
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in employment law
• Experience providing advice within a federally regulated environment would be considered an asset
• Experience in workplace investigations, alternative dispute resolution would be considered an asset
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills in both official languages (English/French)
